Children of every age return to a sense of discovery in the enriching environment of the Nature Center. The center offers 1,915 square feet of air-conditioned classroom space and 790 square feet of outdoor screened-in workshop area. In the thematically decorated indoor and outdoor classrooms, students learn about and interact with live animals cared for within the center. Explore real-life wonders such as reptiles, mammals, amphibians and birds.
Discover a bird’s nest or how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly; the Nature Center helps teach children amazing animal and nature facts, with an array of activities and special events. To enhance the learning and fun, the Center
has a big screen theater with theater-style seating, perfect for special movie weekends, Disney Saturday afternoons, Spooky Fridays and other events, as well as club meetings or business presentations. Just behind the Center, a spacious back porch, lined with rocking chairs of every size, creates a comfortable, scenic seating area ideal for watching birds and the many other Florida native animals that make Wilderness Lake Preserve their home.
